Thank you for choosing to volunteer with Byron Beez! 

We warmly welcome you to our club and thank you for committing your time and energy to being a Team Manager in the great game of basketball!  Our goal is to cultivate the love of basketball in all our Players, Coaches, Team Managers and other Volunteers within our community.

 

 There are so many great reasons to become a Team Manager…

*You’ll be supporting and encouraging your child’s love of Basketball!

*You’ll be contributing to a volunteer run, community based sport association!

*You’ll be a role model to your child, and other young people in our Basketball community!

*You’ll get to learn new skills and gain knowledge!

7 steps to becoming a Team Manager

1.  Register your team-

Nominated your team for the current season via the BBBA website, and then follow up with your players to register onto the team

2. WhatsApp-

Creates and maintain a WhatsApp chat for your team for the dissemination of information from BBBA ( i.e. Public holidays/Cav closed dates announcements, etc). * Ensure you also join the WhatsApp group for your Pool for communications from BBBA*  Access to all WhatsApp groups can be found on our website.

3. Communications-

Be the main point of contact for your team players and BBBA registration/admin staff throughout the season (Please read the communications sent out by the Association and pass any relevant communication onto your team.)

4. Team uniforms-

Organise or delegate within your team the purchase and issue of team uniforms (if relevant).

5. Organise/coordinate training sessions with the Coach/Players- ( through your team's WhatsApp group)

6. Become a BBBA member-

All volunteers across the Byron Basketball Association are required to join as a financial member. The current cost is approximately $13 per annum. This membership will ensure that you are covered by insurance in the case of accident or injury. Please use the link here and select “Volunteer” as the member type. Please use this link:

7. Complete a Working with Children form-

All volunteers that have any contact or affiliation with people under the age of 18 must hold a valid and current NSW Working with Children Check. This registration is FREE. All you need to do is register via the link below and then email your WWC number and date of birth to welcome@byronbasketball.com

*Your birth date is required for verification with the NSW Office of the Childrens’ Guardian.  *Please note that checks from other states are not acceptable.

  • If you, or any of your players, are injured whilst playing/coaching basketball you must fill out and submit the following Injury Report form to Basketball NSW as well as notifying the Juniors Director on juniors@byronbasketball.com;
